The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars (Yeomanry)

The connection of the Regiment with the Duke of Beaufort dates back to 1834, when several independant troops then exsisting in the Country formed themselves into one Tegiment and the command of the newly formed Regiment was offered to the eladest son of the sixth Duke of Beaufort, Henry Marquis of Worcester (Later to be the 7th Duke of Beaufort). He was succeeded as Colonel of the Regiment by the 8th Duke of Beaufort. The Current Duke is the Honorary Colonel of the Regiment.
