The sabretache of the The 19th Hussars (Queen Alexandra's Own Royal)

The sabretache (left) is discribed as follows: Faced with scarlet cloth and was edged on three sides with Regimental lace which had a central stripe of white. The design on the face was made up of the "VR" cypher in gold with a gold crown above, the crown having a crimsonvelvet cap and jewels worked in silver red and green thread. Below the cypher was a silver elephant with blue velvet scrolls both above and below, edged in gold bearing, above the honour 'Assaye' and below 'Niagara', a sprig of laurel in gold each side of the elephant.
This is a cloth badge of the 19th Hussars I recently aquired. It was not part of any uniform but a collectors item.
